This song was attempted over a few different recording sessions, between January - March, 1966. The last take being 'take 1' on the last Blonde on Blonde session (10th March, 1966). Bob Johnson is producer for them all.

.. This was at the end of the session, they had just recorded Fourth Time Around and Visions of Johanna (Takes that would be on Blonde on Blonde).

This was in the middle of the session. One take. On the album. Before this they had recorded Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35 (In one rehearsal, one take), and Obviously Five Believers (In four takes). After this they recorded I Want You (In five takes).
